I stumbled across this link http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-schaeffer/why-im-prolife-and-pro_b_85636.html . It was a worthy read. In an earlier post I talked about the pro -abortion stance of Obama. In this article the author, Frank Shaffer, son of philosopher Francis Shaffer, writes about Obama's desire to raise the value of all life. I agree with Frank that there is a need to raise the overall value of Life in America. Just look at all the killing that is going on daily. I also agree that we are not only consumers in this world. However, I do not agree with the socialist views of spreading the wealth. We do need to recreate a culture of Life that is good, but we can not do it while we are in the closet destroying life, even in a partial birth abortion setting. I am challenged to think outside the box . . . Peace

Sam, I do not know. Life is precious, and the most innocent of our world do not have a voice. If you are for choice would that not make you Pro-abortion. or Pro-Choice. We must see the "Choice" for what it is. The end of a Life, nothing more and nothing less. Any time we take the value away from life, and call it a choice, we devalue life. I know this is a hotly debated topic, but it is the real deal. We can not as a country continue to kill the innocent in the name of "choice" and find any good in our future. Look at other leaders and nations in world history that devalued life or the life of innocent people and what happend to them? I know this is big, but it is BIG. Really. Peace
No, I see choice as the ability to choose. My mom chose to have me, and I'm thankful for that. On the other hand, if she was 14 when she was pregnant with me and wasn't responsible then, she may have been better off getting an abortion. There is no way that the government could know what is right for every single woman, so they (the women) should be given the choice.
Sam, I am also thankful that your mom chose to have you. You are one amazing young lady. Sam, your understanding of choice is exactly correct. However, my delema rests with, what is the choice that is being made in the "Choice". I agree with Obama when he says, we need to help individuals make better choices in their activities, then it should or would limit the need for some young ladies to be forced to make the "Choice". Sam, you are also correct in saying that there is no way the Government can know what is right for each individual. I am not for a big intrusive government. However, there are consequences for the choices we make as individuals. I am not anti-woman, I am however for life or Pro-Life. I see life as being of the highest value. From womb to grave. Sam, you are wonderful, thank you for your encouragement to learn and grow. Peace
So Sam, I was talking with one of my friends during lunch about - you guessed it Politics. Well, she shared with me something I have to agree with . . .I will never be the one who has to make the "choice", I will never be a woman in all of my life. I do not think the government should force any decision on a woman, but I am challenged by the certinaty of the magnitude of the choice.
Oh, I definetly think it's a huge choice to make-one that I hope I never have to.
Also, when abortion is criminalized, unsafe, illegal abortions cause illness or death to many women. Just something to keep in mind.
